The Arc Meningitis Early Alert Pack helps you identify whether a rash and other symptoms are indicators of meningitis and septicaemia.
Meningitis and septicaemia claims around 4000 victims every year, most are small children. One in ten will die. A further two in ten children will suffer from severe and permanent disability. Previously, parents have had to rely on the "tumbler test" or glass test. Doctors stress that the meningitis rash identified by the conventional glass tumbler test may appear late during the course of the disease or sometimes not at all. It is essential that parents remain vigilant for ALL the signs and symptoms of meningitis and not just rely on whether there is a rash.
