Ovulation tests for predicting female fertility
Health Check Shop Expert Review
If you have been experiencing difficulties getting pregnant our ovulation predictor tests can help you choose the appropriate time to conceive successfully.
Predicting when you are most likely to get pregnant
As many couples know, having a baby is not as simple as many think. A successful conception depends on the fertility of both partners. For women, timing is critical as conception can only take place following ovulation which occurs once a month and the egg has to be fertilised by a sperm within 24 hours of release.
Ovulation is the release of an egg from the women's ovary. The egg travels from the ovary along one of the fallopian tubes where fertilisation takes place. Knowing when ovulation is about to occur helps when you are planning for a baby.
Shortly before ovulation is about to take place your body produces large amounts of luteinising hormone (LH) which triggers the release of an egg from the ovary and is known as the LH surge.
According to NHS doctors there are many factors that affect the chances of you conceiving successfully including your age, general health, reproductive health and how often you have sex. Around 8 out of 10 couples will get pregnant within a year of trying for a baby and 9 out of 10 within 2 years. You can increase your chances of conception taking place earlier by knowing when ovulation takes place.

Testing for the LH surge
Simple tests that detect LH in a urine sample can be used to predict when an egg has been released from the ovary and when conception is most likely to be successful. The optimal time to get pregnant begins two days before ovulation and one day afterwards.
Easy to use, safe and reliable
The tests are easy to use requiring a few drops of urine, collected in the sample cups provided, which are added to a test cassette which gives an immediate result. Independently reviewed trials show a reliability greater than 99%.
Male infertility tests
If you are still having difficulty conceiving you may wish to check your partner too. As well as the female fertility tests we also provide tests to check male fertility too.
