Thrush test for women

Thrush and Candida symptoms
Thrush can be easily confused with other conditions as the symptoms are common;
- vaginal itching
- soreness
- vaginal discharge (although this is not always present) -
it can be thin and watery, or thick and white, like cottage cheese and usually odourless - burning sensation that may increase during urination and sexual intercourse
Thrush is commonly caused by a fungal yeast called Candida albicans often triggered by; use of oral contraceptive pills, a diaphragm and spermicide, women who are diabetic or pregnant, use of antibiotics, reduction in vaginal healthy bacteria or a weakened immune system.
Why an accurate diagnosis important
- Symptoms can be easily confused with other causes without accurate diagnosis
