Food allergies affect around 1 to 10% of people in the UK but many more people experience some reactions to foods.

Our tests detect true food allergies, that is, reactions that are triggered through the involvement of allergen specific Immunoglobulin E antibodies (IgE). Our food allergy tests should not be confused with some food intolerance tests which detect IgG antibodies. Tests that measure IgE antibodies can be over a thousand times more sensitive than those that detect IgG antibodies.
All our food allergy tests are performed on the Phadia IgE system which is accepted all over the world as the gold standard for the laboratory diagnosis of food allergy sensitivity and give comparable results to skin testing. Your results will be reviewed by our doctor before being returned to you a few days later.
You do not need to stop taking your allergy or asthma medication to use our tests.
